FILMING IS UNDERWAY ON ‘HEIDI’ FEATURING HEIKE MAKATSCH
Production is in full swing on RTL and SRF’s new family entertainment series HEIDI. Featuring Christian Kohlund as Alpöhi, Heike Makatsch as Miss Rottenmeier and Charly Hübner as Mr Sesemann, the new adaptation of the world-famous classic brings together an outstanding ensemble cast.
Newcomer Neah Hefti takes on the iconic title role of Heidi, with János de Weck starring as Peter. Filming has already taken place in and around Cologne, with the breathtaking landscapes of Switzerland’s Bergell region serving as the backdrop for the upcoming shoots.
Picking up after the events of Johanna Spyri’s beloved literary classic, the series follows Heidi as she grows up and begins to find her own path. Caught between freedom, responsibility and new worlds beyond the familiar life of her mountain home, Heidi must discover where she truly belongs.
The cast also includes Lotte Engels as Klara and Dominique Devenport as Peter’s mother Brigitte, alongside Roeland Wiesnekker, Matthias Britschgi, Esther Gemsch, Selina Furrer, Laila Nielsen, Mael Gallati, Philippe Graber, Nicola Perot, Ron Antony Renzenbrink and Moritz Führmann.
The series is developed and produced by DCM Switzerland and GAUMONT and will be available on RTL Germany and Swiss Radio and Television (SRF). The production is supported in Germany by the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW and the German Motion Picture Fund, and in Switzerland by the Teleproduktions-Fonds with additional support from the Canton of Graubünden.
