Sarah Miro Fischer

director and screenwriter

Sarah Miro Fischer is a director and screenwriter based in Berlin, Germany. She began her film studies in Bogotá, Colombia, before transferring in 2018 to the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (DFFB), where she graduated in October 2024.

Her short films have screened at festivals around the world. Her most recent short, Spit, received a Special Mention at the Imagine This Women’s International Film Festival in New York in 2022.

In 2023, she directed her debut feature film, Schwesterherz (formerly Blue Marks), which was presented in the WIP Europa section of the 72nd San Sebastián International Film Festival. The film was awarded both the WIP Europa and WIP Industry prizes.

Schwesterherz had its world premiere at the 75th Berlin International Film Festival in 2025, as part of the Panorama section, and went on to win the FIPRESCI Prize at the Off Camera International Film Festival in Kraków, Poland.

She crafts films driven by their characters—layered, dynamic, and deeply human. No matter how fantastical, the stories she tells reflect and engage with the world around us. They’re made to provoke thought, emotion, and connection.

WASTED MANAGEMENT

In brief

„I think there are three defining elements to my job: having the right instinct for people; working with passion and conviction; and dealing with people openly and with integrity“
Sibylle Breitbach Founded in 1995, the focus of WASTED MANAGEMENT is the individual support given to its equally individual clients. Ideas, visions and aspirations are developed together with the artist. This philosophy has its origins in Sibylle Breitbach’s close working relationship with her first and longest-standing client, Heike Makatsch.
