Violetta Schurawlow in “Long Live the King!” – Filming of the new cathedral “Tatort” is in progress

Frank Thiel (Axel Prahl) and Prof. Karl-Friedrich Boerne (Jan Josef Liefers) are back in action. Since Monday (15.06.2020) the shooting of “Long live the King!” has been underway in Münster, Cologne and the surrounding area. Alexander Bickel, head of the programme department for television film, cinema and series at WDR: “I am very pleased that shooting has started on ‘Tatort’ from Münster. Long live the King!’ promises to be exciting and funny again and is the first ‘Tatort’ production of WDR to start again after the Corona lockdown. Due to the safety regulations, the shooting conditions for the whole team are unfamiliar and certainly more difficult. Nevertheless, it is a great pleasure to be in front of and behind the camera again, especially in this anniversary year of ‘Tatort’. The special circumstances are a great incentive for all the team to deliver the best crime quality to the audience in the end – as always”.

“Long live the King!” is a production of filmpool fiction (producer: Iris Kiefer, producer: Anne Glöckner) on behalf of the WDR (editor: Sophie Seitz) The script was written by Benjamin Hessler (“Tatort: Spieglein, Spieglein”, “4 Blocks”). Director is Buket Alakuş (“A bride rarely comes alone”, “The Hodscha and the Piepenkötter”), who stages her first “Tatort” here.
