Filming has begun on DIE SCHULE DER MAGISCHEN TIERE 5! The shoot will continue until the end of November, with locations in Bayern, Sachsen-Anhalt, Niedersachsen and Berlin.

The fifth film in the successful series, based on the bestselling books of the same name, centres on a school dance at Winterstein. Finja is glad to have Sidney the koala to help look after her younger siblings. Meanwhile, outsider Zack reveals the secret of the magical community to a stranger online – and then receives a magical animal of his own, Zeki the porcupine. Suddenly, the magical animals are in danger. Can the class catch the animal thief?

Kordes & Kordes Film Süd produces the film, directed by Alexandra Kordes, who co-wrote the screenplay with Nicole Armbruster and Mirjam Müntefering. Eva Marlen Hirschburger and Goya Rego take over the roles of Ida and Jo in the fifth film.

LEONINE Studios will release the film in cinemas on 30 September 2027.
